Dear Readers,
Thank you for your interest in "The American Dream in a Kilt". I have enjoyed the journey from Clydebank, Scotland with $200 in my pocket to (Silicon Valley) Saratoga, California. I am one of the most fortunate people to have worked in an industry that transformed this planet.
When I entered the semiconductor business in the early sixties sales were estimated at $300 million. In 2004 it was a $216 billion dollar industry serving the military, consumer and industrial markets. The advancements that have been made have changed how we live, work and play.
My satisfaction as a corporate executive, CEO and father was experienced in three areas: effective communications, quality assurance and people empowerment. When people have a voice and can influence their future - creativity, loyalty and profitability result!
Warmest Regards,
